Volkswagen Celebrates Best First Quarter For Light Commercial Vans

2014 is turning out to be a great year for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.

That's because the first quarter of 2014 has featured a record-breaking 10,757 light commercial vehicle registrations...a 19% gain on 2013. And for the first time ever, Volkswagen sold more than 7,000 brand new vehicles in a month, as their March sales records showed 7,564 sales. This is 22.5% more than in 2013.

Total registrations for the year so far are 11,783, including 1,026 camper vans and passenger carriers.

This phenomenal performance maintains the brand's status as the number two LCV manufacturer in the UK.

All models enjoyed strong first-quarter sales, resulting in a record LCV market share of 13.5%, up 0.8 percentage points when compared with the same period last year. Transporter models continued to be the most popular Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle, accounting for 5,526 registrations (15.1% up on 2013).
