In a recent move, Ford has extended its well established ‘Ford Approved Programme’ to its commercial vehicles, as well as its passenger cars. This now fully encompasses second hand models of the manufacturers’’ award winning vans and burly pick-up trucks.
Each used vehicle that’s Ford Approved, will be backed by a 160-point quality verification to give buyers a little piece of mind when buying a second hand Ford vehicle. In addition to this, the vehicle will have a comprehensive service history, a 12-month warranty and Ford Roadside Assistance.
Not every Ford commercial vehicle will benefit from Ford Approved status, the criteria that needs to be met include:
- Ford models are owned by an approved dealer
- The vehicle must be less than 5 years old
- It cannot have covered more than 100,000 miles
If the model matches all the above points then it will quality for Ford Approved status and will be more encouraging for buyers. Ford isn’t the first manufacturer to use this type of system, but as one of the largest manufacturers of commercial vehicles in the UK this will have a huge impact on the used vans market.
As an after-sales package, all vehicles sold through this programme will also benefit from a 14-day/500 mile exchange programme - where you can bring it back and change it for a different one in. You also get a seven-day, drive-away insurance to make the purchase of the vehicle as seamless as possible - letting you buy the vehicle and get straight to work the same day!
