For a no claims bonus to be valid it must have been earned in the UK on a policy in your own name, and not as a named driver or on a company policy.

No claims bonus can only be put on hold for so long, so if your previous policy expired more than 2 years ago for motor insurance or 30 days ago for household insurance then your no claims bonus is no longer valid.
